Latest Portrait
This is my latest portrait which I was commissioned to paint. This is an aunt of a good friend of mine. Painting a portrait is like having a personal relationship with the person you are painting. Spending so much time examining the contours of the face, shadows and skin tones, working so closely into the composition, you almost feel you know the person. I have used a photograph to paint this portrait, I always think it is better to see the person in the flesh, but that is not always possible.
